Try the Chicken Chimichanga at La Pinata

In 1969, you couldn't find chimichangas in any grocery store freezer section. They were a rarity in the United States, something that Peter Bugarin wanted to change by bringing Sonoran-inspired Mexican food to Phoenix. He did just that in 1970 with the help of some family, and the restaurant has become an institution.

It just debuted a new location opened less than two miles from Citi on Camelback in October, which dishes out the same fresh fare as the original have a peek at this site. Locals love to gather around the fire pits on the patio when temperatures dip after dark. Claim your spot and order the chicken chimichanga, which comes on a colorful plate with rice and beans on the side, or any of the other fresh chimichangas on the menu. La Pinata also dishes out many other Mexican eats, so regardless of what you're craving, you should be able to find it here.
